Holland’s launching a new way of driving come mid-2013, but it’s not centered on a vehicle. It’s centered on the roadway upon which a vehicle drives. Features include lines drawn with photovoltaic paint that illuminates in night skies, cautionary on-road symbols to heighten awareness of icy conditions, roadside lighting powered by the wind of passing cars via functional pinwheels (which dims when cars are passing), and an “induction priority lane” which recharges electric vehicles as they go.
